The UpCycle Canada Podcast: Your Eco-Friendly Inspiration

EPISODE 21 An interview with someone that quickly went from being a listener of The UpCycle Canada Podcast to becoming a super-fan and then, best of all... a friend! We are pleased to share the story of a fellow upcycler that inspires us! Please welcome Samantha Hulst from Junebird.ca Samantha's story... If you’re like me, a parent that is troubled by the amount short use and “disposable” toys on the market, then you are in the right place. Children's toys and accessories can be quite expensive, especially given how quickly children develop physically and cognitively. Families need more affordable, sustainable and local options than ever before when purchasing for their babies and children. Upcycling textiles to make baby and children's toys and accessories gives people the option. Fabrics are also diverted from landfills, giving them a fresh lease on life. At the outset of the pandemic, I was at a loss regarding how to procure things needed to comfort a newborn baby, while also attempting to meet the demands of a developing toddler.  Then it dawned on me; I could use garments from around the house that have been outgrown and worn out!  Despite my postpartum challenges, I was motivated when I came up with the concept of crafting products out of upcycled textiles We invite you to have a look around and discover what has been created! Be inspired!  Hear how Samantha battled through some pretty dark days, hear the joy in her heart as she shares her journey, finding her passion and how she makes a difference in this world upcycling materials from the landfill!  Samantha's products are gorgeous!  YOU WILL BE INSPIRED!  Interested in what she does?  Want to join forces or start your own business?  Learn from Samantha - a great episode awaits for you, right here - on The UpCycle Canada Podcast Episode Links: https://www.junebird.ca/ Email: hello@junebird.ca Instagram : Junebird.ca Facebook: Junebird.ca This is the link to the pre-loved children's clothing store where I typically get my materials: www.lode.to This is the link to the business coach that I follow and have attended several bootcamps https://deirdretshien.com/ This is the business coach's FB group.  She has tons of free content and typically has a live video every Tuesday. https://m.facebook.com/groups/theremarkableentrepreneur This is the link to software, developed by Deidre, to help create captions and emails.  I subscribe to this software, and it is a great time saver for email newsletters and social media captions. https://capsho.com/ ___ For more about our business please visit https://upcyclecanada.ca/ Podcast created by True Media Solutions Have a podcast and need a great website?
