The Daily Dave - Podcasting Tips - Asking for a 5 Star Review is Simply A Plea to Stroke Our Podcast Ego If we could agree for a moment that if 5 stars is the best rating possible ranking that we can give for a podcast or a podcast episode, does that also then imply that what we are listening to is absolutely perfect - no room for improvement? I fear that requesting a 5 star review is not a realistic ask of our community - I propose instead, that we ask for a realistic review and constructive feedback rather than a perfect score. I want each episode to strive towards perfection but I want to also be realistic that I know that I can continue to improve on all aspects of my podast - so to that end, I don't feel that any of my 8 different podcasts demand a 5 star rating from you - I would much rather have a conversation with you virtually, via speak pipe or by email on how this podcast and how I as a host can serve you better - that means more to me than a simple 5 stars. Is it realistic to ask your audience to stroke your podcasting ego with a 5 star review for everything that you release into the world? Really? I think we need to relook at our ask of those that listen to our show - and that is why I do not end my podast with a plea for your review and rating. Just a thought for you to ponder - agree or disagree, I would absoluetly love to meet and chat with you more over at my website https://howtopodcast.ca/
